HP floats £400 colour all-in-one
Hewlett-Packard (HP) is aiming to extend its leadership in the 'all-in-one' peripheral category with a sub-£400 colour unit.
HP's OfficeJet 590 (£399 + VAT list) offers polychrome printing, faxing, scanning and copying and is aimed at SoHo businesses. It can output black text at up to 4ppm and colour documents at 1ppm, can scan documents at 600dpi and comes with a document feeder.
HP cited IDC research suggesting the all-in-one (or multifunction device) category will enjoy a compound annual growth rate of 96 per cent between now and 2001.
