HP plans 1,000 new jobs in Ireland
Hewlett-Packard (HP) yesterday announced plans to add 1,000 new jobs in an Irish factory.
In a joint announcement with Richard Bruton, the Republic's minister for enterprise and employment, the firm said it will add the staff over four years at its Leixlip, County Kildare facility. The posts will be concerned with the manufacturing of inkjet printers.
HP said the manufacturing capacity was needed because of explosive growth in inkjets, particularly colour models.
