Humble Indie Bundle: DRM-free, pay what you want, and help good causes

Pay what you want for five DRM-free games that work on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Pay what you want for five DRM-free games that work on Windows, Mac and Linux and help some good causes ... sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? It isn't!

This is exactly what you can do by supporting the Humble Indie Bundle project!

The bundle consists of seven games from a variety of indie developers:

If you want an intro into these games, take a look at this excellent review by TotalBiscuit:

There are also two bonus games:

But wait, there's more! Pay more than the average of $5.70 and you get the games from the Humble Indie Bundle #2 (current bundle is #3):

You're also helping out good causes - both the EFF and Child's Play.

You can choose how your payment for the game is split up between the charities and the developers.

A couple of points:

  • Don't pay something like $0.01 for the games ... people doing this are just scum.
  • Don't buy to resell ... again, these people are scum.

An interesting aside ... the Humble Indie Bundle website breaks down average purchase prices by OS ... and it's interesting:

So Linux users pay more than Mac users who, in turn, pay more than Windows users. Interesting!

These are NOT my kind of games. That said, I'm happy to support indie game developers by throwing a few bucks their way ... and Hammerfight does look like fun!
