Industry Standard pulls out of Germany

Following US staff cuts, Europe plans take a hit

The Industry Standard, one of the more successful "new economy" journals, is scrapping plans for a German-language edition, according to a report in the Financial Times.

The magazine recently launched a European edition based in the UK, but this week announced it would slash 7 percent of its US workforce due to slowing growth in the Internet sector and lower advertising sales. The UK operation said it was unaffected by the cuts.
