Intel says Pro/1Mb cache shortage nearly over

Intel today said its shortage of Pentium Pro processors with a 1Mb cache won't be a problem much longer.

Speaking at an IBM press meeting, a spokeswoman for the firm said that the shortfall of the server-dedicated chips will be solved by the end of the year.

IBM plans to use the part in its new NetFinity 7000 line of servers.
