Internet Explorer 7, from Google?

Philipp has a great post about a new advertisement found when they searched for "IE7" (it also works for Internet Explorer 7, IE, Internet Explorer,etc.).  The first ad you will see is for a Google branded IE7 -- no doubt an attempt to capture those people who are looking to update their browsers.

I believe this will be a very effective ad campaign for Google, and could lead to more installations of the Google Toolbar.  Philipp asks if their fear of a browser "without Google in it" spurred this campaign -- I would say so.

Not only are they pushing the Google Toolbar through a branded IE, they are also starting to display more intrusive advertisements on their main page according to one of my readers.

Wow, I just read this on Jeremy Zawodny's blog -- the advertisement was blatantly ripped-off from Yahoo!
