Intuit Snap Payroll aims to ease processing paychecks for SMBs

After tackling EZ federal tax forms, Intuit eyes simplifying processing payroll using just a mobile app.

Intuit continues to churn out mobile apps aimed to ease one of the most tedious yet required financial activities: processing taxes.

This time the new app focuses on the few steps ahead of an EZ federal tax form. Essentially, the Intuit Snap Payroll aims to provides guidance to small businesses that are processing payroll manually to calculate their W-2 employees’ paychecks.

To create paychecks, employers enter the hours an employee worked into the app, along with their pay rate, and the program takes care of the math. It also keeps a record of paycheck history for reference and includes federal and state tax withholding forms.

Snap Payroll follows the debut of the EITC Finder, a smartphone app for determining Earned Income Tax Credit eligibility, which debuted earlier this year.

The Intuit Snap Payroll app is currently available for free for iOS devices. The app supports processing payroll taxes in the following states: AK, CA, FL, IL, NV, NH, NY, SD, TN, TX, WA, and WY. Intuit reps assure that more states will be added to the list in the coming months.
