Invensys joins home Internet open alliance

British automation and controls group Invensys Plc said on Sunday it had joined 13 other major global consumer and high-technology companies to set up a web-based open alliance. The Internet Home Alliance aims to fuel the home technology industry, and will promote industry collaboration and assist in the development of the entire ecosystem from device manufacturers to retailers, Invensys said in a statement. "Invensys is well placed to benefit from the growth of the internet lifestyle. Our electronic control devices are already embedded in millions of appliances in homes everywhere and are easily internet-enabled," Allen Yurko, Invensys chief executive said. -- Reuters
