Ireland is at 100% mobile penetration

According to Comreg, mobile penetration in Ireland reached 100% towards the end of 2005. 80% of mobile users rate value for money and lower prices as important when choosing or switching their phone operator. 24% of handset users opt for post paid while 74% prefer pre paid. This research reveals that the majority of Generation X opts for prepaid handsets due largely to financial reasons. This statistic is highest amongst 17-19 year olds as 91% have prepaid handsets.
