Italy has really messed up the internet for their people

The internet is a series of tubes -- tubes attached to very innovative people and companies that have made websites which have changed how people work, play and interact. Many of these websites and tools were created without fear of their creators being prosecuted due to the actions of their users.

The internet is a series of tubes -- tubes attached to very innovative people and companies that have made websites which have changed how people work, play and interact. Many of these websites and tools were created without fear of their creators being prosecuted due to the actions of their users.

In Italy, three Google executives were dealt a suspended sentence of 6 months in prison today because a group of teenagers in Italy uploaded a video of an autistic boy being bullied. Nobody is saying that the video should not have been removed -- anyone condoning what happened in that video should be checked out.

Because of this ruling, there is now precedence in Italy stating that companies can be held responsible for the actions of their users -- anyone running a business that operates across borders must be thinking twice about offering their service in Italy at all now. The one losing here isn't Google, it's the people of Italy.
