Christchurch-based Jade Software has won a seven-port deal with the Abu Dhabi Ports Company, adding a total of 29 new port companies as customers in the year to December 31.
Abu Dhabi Ports will use Jade's Master Terminal software to manage its general cargo operations, including bulk, break bulk, project, and roll-on/roll-off cargo.
Zayed Port, located in the north-eastern area of Abu Dhabi city, and Khalifa Port, midway between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, will be the first of the seven to be implemented.
Gary Lemke, executive vice president of the ports unit at Abu Dhabi Ports, said the company is committed to continual investment to stay competitive. Jade was selected after an extensive evaluation to replace the company's existing software, he said.
Jade's managing director David Lindsay said the win cemented Jade's position as the fastest-growing terminal operating system provider for mixed cargoes.
