Japanese server revenues down 2.8% in 2004

Japanese server market factory revenues in the first half of 2004 showed YTY decrease of 1.9% to 366.06 bln yen. The shipments, however, grew by 15.0% to 243,439 units, Research and Market reports. The x86 server market maintains healthy growth in terms of shipments, but its factory revenue was sluggish. 2004 server market will show YYT decrease of 2.8% in factory revenue to 699.373 bln yen ($6.4 bln). The shipments are expected to increase by 14.1%.
