Judge fines mobile user £10 for contempt of court

A judge this week finally did what every weary Londoner would like to do to mobile users who just don't know when to shut up by fining a woman £10 for contempt of court after at least three interruptions.

Linda Osborne, a 37-year-old woman, was waiting for her son to appear in the dock at Exeter magistrates court when her mobile went off in an area dotted with notices warning that mobile phones were not allowed.
