Juniper Networks is staffing up with the appointment of a new chief technology officer dedicated to all things security.
The networking giant announced on Thursday that it has hired Kevin Walker as its new security CTO.
Juniper boasted Walker brings more than 25 years of experience in information security and technology to the job.
Walker is joining Juniper most recently from Walmart.com, where he served as vice president and assistant chief information security officer.
Previous resumé bullet points include leadership roles at Cisco, Symantec and Intuit.
Walker will lead development and innovation initiatives, which will include Juniper's security product roadmap for providing secure network infrastructures as well as overseeing the product management and engineering teams.
As a member of Juniper's senior leadership team, Walker will report directly to Jonathan Davidson, executive vice president and general manager of Juniper Development and Innovation.
