Barclay Knapp's days at the head of troubled cable company NTL may be numbered if weekend reports which suggest a replacement is being lined up are to be believed. According to the Sunday Telegraph headhunter Miles Broadbent has been employed by NTL bondholders to sound out Philip Jansen, one time managing director of Telewest. If Jansen is interested he will replace Knapp as CEO. Earlier this month Knapp, who saw his firm enter Chapter 11 financial protection, acknowledged his job was far from safe. "I'm not guaranteed a job going forward and I have to satisfy my new owners that indeed we're the right people for the job," he said.
