LG reveals UK release timing for Optimus 4X HD
LG's Optimus 4X HD Android smartphone will go on sale in the UK next month, the manufacturer said on Tuesday.
Revealed in February, the Optimus 4X HD is a quad-core device with a 4.7-inch screen that uses in-plane switching (IPS) technology to allow wide viewing angles. It runs Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' 4.0 and, according to LG's Korean newsroom, it will come to Europe in June.

The Optimus 4X HD uses a 1.5GHz Tegra 3 processor, which has four main cores and a low-powered fifth core that kicks into action for simple tasks. LG also noted on Tuesday that a future software update for the Optimus 4X HD would allow the use of fewer cores, again to help extend battery life where large amounts of processing power are not needed.
The phone has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It has an eight-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and its battery has a capacity of 2,150mAh.
The IPS screen features a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, in line with rival flagship Android handsets such as Samsung's Galaxy S III and HTC's One X.
LG has not yet revealed the pricing for its new smartphone in the UK.
