The latest series of Panasonic Viera HDTVs are already Skype-enabled, but Logitech as a new accessory that will facilitate HD video calling in the living room.

The real highlight with the Logitech TV Cam for Skype is that it lets users make and receive 720p HD video calls. Those Skype conversations can be from the Panasonic Viera HDTV to other TVs, computers (Mac and PC), iPhones and other "select" smartphones.

The camera itself is fitted with a 78-degree wide-angle lens featuring Carl Zeiss optics and Logitech Fluid Crystal technology for color and clarity. Additionally, the TV Cam host a pair of digital, directional microphones in order to reduce noise and echoes.

Logitech will be rolling out the TV Cam for Skype is starting this month for $149.99.
