Management Graphics Inc. next week will update its EDOX Document Server software and add support for a wider variety of color copiers and large-format inkjet printers.

Version 1.2 of the Windows NT-based server can now drive up to one copier and three wide-format inkjet printers simultaneously, according to the company.

Management Graphics said the server costs $11,000 to $25,000, depending on the specific PC hardware platform and options. The server uses an Adobe PostScript 3 interpreter and supports multiple processors. The company said it expects the update to cost about $5,000.

The update adds support for color copiers from Minolta Corp., Mita Copystar America Inc., Ricoh Corp., Savin Corp. and Sharp Electronics Corp. Like earlier versions, it also supports a lengthy list of Canon U.S.A. Inc. copiers.

The server supports duplexing, electronic collation and remote management via browsers, the company said. It offers modes for printing photographs as well as Euroscale and SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) color standards.

In addition to copiers, Management Graphics said, the RIP server now supports a range of wide format inkjet printers from EnCAD Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Roland Digital Group.
