MatchMine gets $10 million investment

Thanks to Marshall's Twitters I saw he's reporting that MatchMine, a company I covered this summer, just announced a $10 million investment from the Kraft Group. MatchMine released an early version of their product, MyMovieMatch, to some success in July but are planning on doing more at DEMO so have kept pretty quiet until the event.

MatchMine has a very interesting product and both Flex and Adobe AIR play prominently in the technology. It leverages something called a "MatchKey" that learns about user preferences for a variety of multimedia based on their feedback. The MatchKey is then portable so you can share it with friends or in theory use it with other sites. According to Marshall, there are three sites which will support MatchKey's when the company launches. I think this is great validation for their product and Adobe AIR. Hopefully we're enabling some great experiences that will let startups differentiate themselves from competitors and get funding like this.
