McAfee knights new Asia-Pacific head

The Intel subsidiary has promoted its Australia and New Zealand managing director to the Asia-Pacific role.

McAfee's Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Andrew Littleproud has been promoted to head up the company's Asia-Pacific operations.

He takes over from Steve Redmen, who moved from Sydney to Santa Clara, California, where the security vendor's headquarters are located after being made executive vice-president of global sales.

"My focus for 2013 will be to extend McAfee's position as a market leading information security solution provider across Asia-Pacific," Littleproud said in a statement.

To drive continued growth in Asia-Pacific, he will utilise McAfee's extensive partner network to service SMB, corporate, and government customers, according to the vendor.

Another focus for Littleproud is promoting corporate responsibility.

"An initiative I am particularly passionate about is the McAfee Cyber Education program , which will see thousands of Australian school children educated about cyber safety in 2013," he said.

Prior to joining the McAfee, Littleproud worked as EMC's regional director and had held senior roles at Xerox and Oracle. He has a bachelor's degree with honours in IT from the Hallam University in Sheffield, UK.
