MetroPCS launched the nation's first 4G LTE-enabled network from Las Vegas today with the Samsung Craft mobile phone already signed on.

There aren't that many 4G-ready phones out there, but Samsung is touting the Craft as the "world’s first 4G LTE-enabled, multi-mode, CDMA handset."

While it's definitely not a smartphone (especially compared to the HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Epic 4G), there are some useful points on the Craft, including:

  • 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • Music player
  • 3.2-megapixel camera/camcorder with flash, autofocus and multiple preset features (i.e. panorama, mosaic, etc.)
  • 2GB microSD card (preloaded with the latest Star Trek movie; expandable up to 32GB)
  • Sliding QWERTY keyboard

Only available at MetroPCS stores in Las Vegas and online, the Samsung Craft costs $299 after a $50 instant rebate, plus tax. The Craft is contract-free, but don't forget about the $55 or $60 you'll have to pay to access anything online on the 4G network.
