Popular Korean internet portal Daum.net is seeking an injunction against Microsoft to block the imminent release of its new operating system, XP. In a statement it said it filed for an injunction with a Seoul District Court Thursday morning. It said it felt Microsoft was infringing on users' privacy by requesting too much information from them on the activation of the operating system. It wants the planned 26 October launch of XP stopped. Last month Daum alleged Microsoft's bundling of features, particularly instant messaging, with the operating system is anti-competitive. Daum is thought to control a fifth of Korea's instant messaging market.
