Microsoft releases Avatar Kinect for Xbox 360, Sparkle coming later this week

Microsoft is adding two new experiences to the Kinect Fun Labs this week - Avatar Kinect and Kinect Sparkler.

Microsoft is adding two new experiences to the Kinect Fun Labs this week - Avatar Kinect and Kinect Sparkler.

Kinect Avatar, which is available today, allows your personalized Kinect avatar to interact with with to seven other Kinect buddies on a variety of 'virtual stages' ranging from an outer space theme to a sports tailgate party.

Kinect Sparkle, which is due to land this week, allows users to draw sparkling lines and other effects around their avatar.

What's really cool about this feature is that the Kinect camera tracks the user's facial expressions - eyebrows, mouth and so on - and displays these expressions on the avatar.

Users can share their hard work from both Avatar Kinect and Sparkler on the Fun Labs Live friends feed or uploading to KinectShare.com. Users can upload their creations on Facebook or download them to their computers, email them to friends, and more.

Seems like Microsoft is doing some really cool things with the Kinect hardware.
