Michigan based ClamCase has been acquired by Incipio. The acquisition adds the ClamCase Pro line of keyboard cases for the iPad to Incipio's line of high-end cases and bags for tablets and phones. No financial details of the acquisition have been disclosed.

While the ClamCase Pro is currently available from retailers, the rebranded Incipio ClamCase Pro will be available at select retailers later this month.

The ClamCase Pro is a clamshell keyboard case for the iPad that turns the tablet into a laptop clone. The iPad fits in the plastic lid and rotates 360 degrees so in addition to using the iPad as a laptop it can also be used in a tablet mode. There are ClamCase Pro cases for the iPad mini, iPad 2/3/4, and both the iPad Air and iPad Air 2.

In addition to accessories for Apple's devices, Incipio has cases for other products including Microsoft's Surface tablets.

"This exciting acquisition stems from Incipio's continuous commitment to offering our customers even better products to complement their mobile devices. With ClamCase as a member of the Incipio family, we look forward to growing the business by combining our established infrastructure and wide-ranging distribution channels with ClamCase's premium product line and unsurpassed attention to detail."
