Mobile phones get share-price savvy

If you have a batch of shares you want to sell, but don't want to sit glued to a monitor waiting for the right price to appear, a new sharewatch service may be just what you are looking for.

You tell Mobile Monitor (£25 + VAT startup charge and from £49 + VAT quarterly) which stocks you are interested in, and the price points you want to buy or sell at, and the firm phones you when the price you are looking for is 'Triggered' by the software. The service works on GSM phones including those on Vodafone, Cellnet, and Orange networks. A 'Tracker' service is also offered, in which your target stocks are constantly monitored.

Both services use the LCD display area of a digital mobile phone to display the information, which includes the date, time, stock price movement either plus or minus, the new share price and the company name.

Mobile Monitor is available from Brainstorm which can be contacted by telephone on 0171-281 4411.
