Mooning over Mars

Have your students take a look at Mars through Google maps and a computer-animated fly-through of a canyon 10 times greater than the Grand Canyon.

Teaching about space this year? Check out this excellent narrated and computer-animated video of a flythrough through Mars' Mariner Valley, assembled by Arizona State University's Mars Space Flight Facility. It was constructed from more than 500 individual photos taken by the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) aboard NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter.

And speaking of cool Mars-related computer stuff, check out, with elevated, visible and infrared views of the red planet.  The data comes from NASA researchers working at ASU.
