First, VoIP provider TeleBlend signed an agreement with SunRocket undertaker Sherwood Partners to be one of two preferred providers for former SR customers.

But hey, guess what. Now, TeleBlend is buying some of the cremains.

Today TeleBlend announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire "certain limited strategic VoIP assets" of SunRocket.

A TeleBlend spokesperson told me earlier today via email that because a large percentage of former SunRocket customers have not yet chosen a new provider, this announcement is significant because it means that any former customer transitioning to TeleBlend can continue to use their existing SunRocket equipment and maintain their existing phone number - all while ensuring continuity of service.

More details are on a special TeleBlend web page just put up today.

The actual deal is expected to close "shortly," TeleBlend said in a press release issued today.
