M'sia Asiatravelmart.com ties up with US OneTravel

Malaysia's Asiatravelmart.com has clinched a deal with US-based OneTravel.com in a bid to expand its coverage and range of customers.

KUALA LUMPUR--Asiatravelmart.com has clinched a deal with US-based OneTravel.com in a bid to expand its coverage and range of customers.

The two travel portals will mutually integrate their content into their respective supply chains for better delivery in a faster time-frame to a larger reach of customers.

Hence, in addition to the more than 110,000 products from over 43,000 suppliers that populate Asiatravelmart.com's Web site, customers can now purchase special airfares from OneTravel's patent-pending White Label fares and receive instant confirmation on reservations on over 500 airlines, 54,000 hotels and 48 car rental companies from all major agencies and save up to 70 percent on vacation packages.

The partnership is based on a flat structure of content-swapping which minimizes overhead cost, thereby enabling Asiatravelmart.com to be price competitive, said chairman and chief executive officer of Asia Travel Network Sdn Bhd, the owner and operator of Asiatravelmart.comAlex Kong in a statement.

Malaysia-based Asiatravelmart.com is a travel portal for reservations of hotels, air tickets, tour packages, transfers, meals and car rentals. It claims to offers travel products from more than 200 countries, providing users the convenience of making travel reservations 24 hours a day at wholesale prices. The portal boasts 330 to 350 daily transactions, with an average value of US$327 (RM1,243) per transaction on any given day.

OneTravel is said to be ranked among the top ten online travel Web sites in the US. Two of its shareholders are Amadeus, a global distribution system (GDS) and technology provider to the travel industry, and Terra Lycos, a leading global Internet network.
