Malaysia has launched the Malaysian Internet Exchange (MyIX).
MyIX is a collaborative effort of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission as well as 17 Internet Service Providers.
An Internet exchange serves as a point for networks to interconnect directly instead of going through a third party network. Theoretically, this would increase bandwith speed.
This would be welcome news to broadband subscribers in Malaysia, who have had to be contented with sluggish speeds thus far.
