A real end to fat pipe woes?...

NEC is to establish a company to investigate which broadband services its ISP customers would like to receive. It will work with Matsushita, KDDI and Japan Telecom to assess the feasibility of broadband content services such as sports, video clips and videoconferencing. The companies established a joint ISP in April to cut costs and improve content services. The new company is capitalised at £540,000.
