Netflix continues to reel in the deals with Hollywood studios for its "Watch Instantly" service. This time it is with EPIX, which will bring in a library of new titles from Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM.
EPIX, a premium entertainment channel that launched last year, was founded by these studios to bring new releases to viewers via subscription. Now, Netflix will get access to this same film collection 90 days after the movies air on pay TV. It's not instant, but it will surely fill up those Netflix queues a bit faster. All of this will get started on September 1.
This latest deal follows Netflix's deal with Relativity Media in July, which will bring films from this production company to the streaming service simultaneously with premium channels like HBO and Showtime.
