NetObjects, Allaire fuse Web tools
NetObjects and Allaire announced today they are fusing their respective products.
In a joint announcement, the two companies detailed plans to provide a version of Java-based NetObjects Fusion that enables HTML authors of Fusion to work with Allaire's Cold Fusion middleware/database Web application design software.
Called the Fusion2Fusion connectivity kit, the new offering will enable users to create HTML pages that have ties to back-end systems and Web applications built using Cold Fusion. Fusion2 Fusion will be available from Allaire starting in November.
The two companies are also working on other connectivity kits for future NetObjects applications.
The Fusion2Fusion kit was actually created by a third-party developer called Fundere Inc. and will be sold by Allaire.
