Netscape shows real profits

Netscape may no longer be the darling of Wall Street but it is proving some doubters wrong by turning in real profits.

Profits were $7.66 million for the quarter ending September 30, up from close to zero for the equivalent quarter a year ago. Revenues were up to $100 million from $23.3 million. The results sent Netscape's stock up 12 per cent.

Netscape said the numbers reflected the shift of corporates to intra-net solutions.
