Network Ten has inked a AU$2.5 million managed Web hosting services deal with Hostworks as the broadcaster looks to ramp up its online assets.

"Ten this week revealed it will launch at least 50 sites based on both local programs such as Australian Idol, Big Brother and Thank God You're Here and overseas series," a statement issued by Hostworks said this morning.

"Hostworks will provide a comprehensive managed service to support the significant new online presence for Network Ten's digital division."

Hostworks has had a previous relationship with Ten. "We have worked with Hostworks previously on programs such as Big Brother, which have been very successful," Ten's general manager of Digital Media, Damien Smith, said in the statement.

Smith predicted Ten's new sites would attract some 1.5 million unique visitors by early 2008.

The rocketing levels of interest from publishing companies in the Internet looks to have fuelled a number of wins for Hostworks in recent times. The company currently provides a variety of services to Web giants including ninemsn, realestate.com.au, Wotif, Sensis, News Corporation, Ticketek and Seek.
