Networks '98: Home networking this year

Newsburst: A powerful consortium has been formed to launch home networking it emerged at Networks-telecom '98 today. The Group, Home Phoneline Network Alliance (HomePNA) includes industry heavyweights AMD, 3Com, AT&T Wireless, Compaq, HP, IBM, Lucent, Intel and TUT - who have all agreed to work towards a home network specification.

Newsburst: A powerful consortium has been formed to launch home networking it emerged at Networks-telecom '98 today. The Group, Home Phoneline Network Alliance (HomePNA) includes industry heavyweights AMD, 3Com, AT&T Wireless, Compaq, HP, IBM, Lucent, Intel and TUT - who have all agreed to work towards a home network specification. Products are expected to ship in the UK by the end of the year, according to HomePNA. The alliance aims to offer high speed, home networking over existing telephone wires.
