Call centers- love 'em or hate 'em, but you probably will talk to one sooner rather than later. These are the folks that some people call phone-based "customer service."

You may not realize this, but Skype has vivid aspirations of being a major player in the call center game. Skype is doing this through Skype for Business.

Here at VoiceCon there's a related, and interesting exhibit from enterprise-level contact management solutions provider OnState Communications. They are announcing and promoting athird-party Skype application called OnState CallCenter for Skype.

What OnState Call Center for Skype does is enable Skype-using businesses to offer live chat to customers. It has some nifty chat window modes, offers several configurations for navigating between chat and audio calls, as well as prompts customers for specific data and then provides responses.

As so many of these solutions are, cost is assessed on a per-seat basis. OnState Call Center for Skype is priced as low as $30 per call center agent.
