New managing director for AWS Australia and NZ

Amazon Web Services Australia and New Zealand has given the top job to Paul Migliorini, following the departure of Ed Lenta, who moved on to take up a role at the company's headquarters.

Paul Migliorini has been appointed managing director of Amazon Web Services Australia and New Zealand.

He replaces Ed Lenta, who moved to AWS headquarters in January this year to take on the role of head of global accounts, according to his LinkedIn page. AWS confirmed Migliorini's appointment but declined to provide further comment.

Immediately prior to taking on the role, Migliorini was ANZ CEO of serviced office provider, the Regus Group, a position he took on in October 2013.

Before that he held a number of senior roles in Asia Pacific with BT Global Services, the arm of the UK based telco that provides telecommunications services to multinational enterprises. Migliorini joined BT Global Services as director, strategy, and business development, Asia Pacific; and was regional managing director, South APAC.

Prior to joining BT he was a business development director with Motorola in Hong Kong, and a management consultant with Ernst & Young in Melbourne.
