Looks like we have another leak on our hands, and this time it is the BlackBerry Storm 3, which is poised for a potential September release.

Looks like we have another leak on our hands, and this time it is the BlackBerry Storm 3, which is poised for a potential September release.

Published by Boy Genius Report (which is just overflowing with leaks and rumors these days), the BlackBerry 6.1-based handheld will sport "the highest resolution display to ever ship on a BlackBerry smartphone." That is a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 capacitive display. Here's what else is lined for the upcoming RIM smartphone:

  • 1.2GHz processor
  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  • Tri-band UMTS/HSPA
  • OpenGL ES 2.0
  • 8 ofGB eMMC storage
  • 512MB of RAM
  • Wi-Fi
  • 3G mobile hotspot
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • microSD slot
  • Magnetometer
  • Proximity sensor
  • Accelerometer
  • 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording
  • Optical trackpad
  • 1,230 mAh battery

Pricing hasn't been revealed, but is anyone excited for this BlackBerry? At least it looks a bit better than the Dakota, but the Storm series has struggled in the past. Nothing here really screams that this one will be any better.
