The New York Times has launched its own iPad app, bringing the entire paper to your shiny 9.7-inch touch screen tablet computer.
That means over 25 sections of content with additional enhanced photos and videos to keep things pretty and informative.
Some of the special touches available on this iPad app include breaking news alerts (even when the application is closed), easy sharing via e-mail and social networking sites, full screen slideshows, and a bottom navigation bar similar to that on the iPhone app.
Unrestricted access is available from the get-go for four sections: Top News, Most E-Mailed, Business and Video. Everything else requires the user to either log in with or register for (free) NYTimes.com account.
For now, use of NYTimes App is free, and it is available to download from the iTunes App Store now. However, when The Times launches its pay model in 2011, users will need to pick up a subscription to continue using the iPad App. Downloading the app itself will most likely remain free.
