News Burst: Blockbuster does broadband movies-on-demand

Thank your lucky stars... no more trekking to the rental shop

Movie rental company Blockbuster will soon announce plans to stream movies across broadband Internet connections.

The company has been developing a secure method of streaming video and audio across a cable modem or digital subscriber line (DSL), using digital rights management technology from InterTrust Technologies.

The movies will be distributed across the global broadband network of Enron Broadband Services, initially in the US.
