News Burst: Chip industry warned of imminent slowdown

Things have never been better for the semiconductor business, but it could all end in a few months, warns an analyst

A Silicon Valley analyst firm has warned that a downturn in the processor market could hit in the next six months.

Advanced Forecasting (AFI) said Tuesday that a "significant slowdown" could hit most of the integrated circuit industry in early 2001, following slower growth for the rest of this year.
