News Burst: DSL to make movie downloads easy

Napster-style service makes a move on movies

Downloading movies off the Internet will soon be as easy as downloading music, as ADSL allows visitors to Napster lookalike Scour to share complete copies of films and videos.

While downloads via narrowband are time-consuming, BT acknowledges that ADSL broadband access will make it easier and cheaper for users to transfer very large files, making movie downloads from sites like Scour a reality. "A key reason for choosing an always-on broadband network is to download large files," says a BT spokesman.
