News Burst: Government site links kids to sex and drugs - report

Government's Eduweb site links to material critics say is inappropriate

A government Web site designed for schools is allowing millions of children to gain instant access to sexually explicit material and drugs information, according to a report.

The Eduweb site is part of Prime Minister Tony Blair's £700m initiative to provide all schools with Internet connections and content. But the site links to Internet resources some say is inappropriate for kids, such as a "virtual surgery" discussing sexually transmitted diseases and drug addiction, according to the Mail on Sunday.
