News Burst: Grove holds forth on IA-64 e-commerce plans

Former Intel CEO Andy Grove whetted audiences' appetites in anticipation of the IA-64 processor this morning at an uninspired briefing in London's Four Seasons hotel. Grove told attendees that the 64-bit chip will be particularly well-suited for e-commerce, as it helps serve customer information right out of memory, has better security functions than its predecessors and is a better product overall than Intel's 32-bit chips.
