News Burst: Linux gains on Windows - report
It's official, Linux is eating its opponents -- IDC says so.
Companies are increasingly turning to Linux rather than adopting Windows 2000 a report from research firm, IDC has found.
IDC found that 13 percent of respondents use Linux instead of Microsoft's operating systems. The open-source alternative to Windows has steadily gained ground on Microsoft's OS with high-profile backers like IBM and Hewlett-Packard.
