News Burst: Microsoft acquires Valence
Microsoft has acquired Valence Research, an Oregon-based maker of software for Microsoft's Windows NT operating system, Valance's software helps manage loads for mail and Web servers.
The technology will be renamed Windows NT Load Balancing Service, which will be released as part of the Windows NT Service Edition. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
