News Burst: Napster injunction partly upheld

Is this the end for the popular file-swapping service?

According to early reports from America, a US court has partly upheld an injunction against song-swapping site Napster.

Judges at the Court of Appeals in San Francisco will issue its ruling Monday on the recording industry's request that Napster be ordered to stop allowing users to swap songs for free.

If the injunction has been upheld then Napster, which signed a deal with record label Bertelsmann last October, would not be able to continue in its present form.
