Not impressed with Microsoft's claims about security, Linux followers lash out at Redmond team

The open-source community has reacted with anger to claims from Microsoft representatives that the open source model is too insecure for it take seriously.

British Linux developer Jason Clifford has led the backlash, describing them as part of a very cynical marketing ploy. "At the end of the day Microsoft is in the business of selling a product," he says. "Everyone is entitled to do that, but perhaps it would be better to do it on the merits of that product rather than tying to put down something else."
