News Burst: Possible bug in 733MHz Coppermine
A German computer magazine suggests there may be a serious bug in Intel's long awaited Coppermine 733MHz.18 micron Pentium III chip.
In a review of the Coppermine, "C't" magazine reports apparent compiler optimisation errors when using both Intel and Microsoft software.
The magazine also reveals possible problems with the level one and two cache of Intel's new flagship processor.
