Nexus S 4G launches at Sprint on 8 May

The pure Google Gingerbread smartphone launches on Sprint on 8 May for $199.99.

Sprint and Samsung announced the Nexus S 4G in March and I just received confirmation that this new device will be available on 8 May for $199.99 with new contract or eligible upgrade. The Nexus S 4G is a Google Nexus S device with support for WiMAX on Sprint, but retains that pure Google Gingerbread (Android 2.3) experience.

Given the continuous failure of my HTC ThunderBolt WiFi hotspot connectivity I would rather had picked this device up from Sprint, but I am past my return period with Verizon and am stuck with a defective device or flawed LTE service.

You can pre-order the Nexus S 4G at Sprint stores by purchasing a $50 gift card as your deposit. You can then use the card towards your Nexus S 4G device on 8 May when it is available.
